Tony Ferguson vs Conor Mcgregor fall of 2019?

Tony Ferguson hasn’t been fighting since UFC 229 because of mental issues. His wife filed a restraining order on him because she was worried for his safety.

“Tony Ferguson is a good husband and good father to our son. The current legal proceedings are part of a process to ensure that Tony will receive the help necessary to continue being the best possible husband and father, as well as to pursue his passion and career as a UFC champion fighter.”

Tony Ferguson recently had a meeting with Dana White and he’s medically cleared to fight. Dana White recently had a meeting with Conor McGregor in Las Vegas. Wondering if Conor vs Tony is a fight that will happen, Dana setting this up for a huge main event in Las Vegas.

Fight makes sense as Conor hasn’t fought since UFC 229 as well because of suspensions, Getting arrested and running his proper whiskey business. Both Conor and Tony occasionally trash talk to each other on twitter, Tony calling ConorMcNugget.”

Khabib vs Poirier is happening in September, UFC 242 in Dubai. In October that’s when Conor Vs Tony will happen or maybe will happen. Gives Conor and Tony enough time to promote the fight and train. The winner of Conor vs Tony faces the winner of Khabib vs Poirier. It’s a 4 fighter tournament without being declared one.

Helps the Lightweight Division out as it’s in chaos right now and maybe these 4 fights will help the Lightweight Division. Understanding where Conor is at right now, How many fights does he TRULY have and is Tony medically healthy!!

Overall hope Tony vs Conor will happen because it’s a fight lots of mma fans have been waiting for and without a doubt will be a fun fight to watch.

Donald Cerrone Title Shot against Poirier vs Khabib ?

Donald Cerrone beat Al Iaquinta whose a Top 5 Lightweight in the UFC on May 4th in Ottawa. The main event for UFC OTTAWA. Donald Cerrone post fight called for the Lightweight Title Shot fighting Fighting the winner of Khabib vs Poirier!!

Congrats to @cowboycerrone on the impressive win last night and MUCH respect to the incredibly TOUGH and BAD ASS @aliaquinta for an amazing fight!!!! Dana white on Instagram

Donald Cerrone has been in the UFC since 2011. He always puts on entertaining fights for the fans, Never has a boring fight and is a fan favorite. Cerrone definitely deserves a title shot. Cerrone is 36 years old, His career is coming to a close soon possibly having only two years left.

“My name’s in the hat for [Nurmagomedov or Poirier] for sure if one of them fall out. But like I said, I left here [ranked No. 2 at lightweight] and I didn’t go anywhere,” Cerrone said post-fight (via MMA Fighting). “So people ask me where should I be ranked, I don’t care about ranking. I should beat these guys, I feel like I’m the best in the world. I feel like that’s where I belong and for the UFC not to give me a title shot, I would step back and I would be thoroughly disappointed. Like, wow, a guy who’s done all this for the sport, I don’t trash talk, I go in there and I deliver every time and you’re going to overlook me for somebody else. I’d be really upset like, wow, that’s the company work for?”

Donald Cerrone

  • Most wins in UFC history 23
  • Most finishes in UFC history with 16
  • Most post fight bonuses with 17
  • Beat Benson Henderson, Edson Barboza, Al Iaquinta, Eddie Alvarez.
  • Competed for the UFC lightweight title
  • WEC Title Contender

Case is closed in my opinion Cerrone should get his title shot, He truly deserves it. Fight Khabib or Poirier than hopefully get the fight against Conor McGregor.

DC vs Stipe 2 August 17th

Stipe Miocic never got his rematch against Daniel Cormier. DC knocked out Stipe in under a minute in the first round. Thought Stipe would respectfully get a title defense but it never happened until now!! August 17th in Anaheim California there will be a rematch.

“He’s being entitled, why have I fought since and he hasn’t,” Cormier said of Miocic. “He lost the fight is he still the champ? Bloody Elbow

“It’s the fight I want,” he said. “I think everyone wants to fight Brock. We all want to fight Brock.”

He added: “Dana get on the phone right now. If you haven’t called him yet, do it today! What are you waiting for? Get this s–t on the books. Let’s get this on the books!”

DC was supposed to fight Brock Lesnar but that fight isn’t happening in 2019. DC wanted that fight so badly because it can set him up for generational wealth. Stipe vs DC 2 can set him up for generational wealth if promoted correctly.

Max Holloway should stay at Lightweight or Drop Down to Featherweight?

Max Holloway lost to Dustin”Diamond”Poirier in a five round fight for the interim lightweight title. Holloway’s 13 Fight winning streak comes to an end as he had his first fight at Lightweight. Holloway’s striking skills wasn’t there on Saturday as he usually dominates in the standup, Holloway demolished Aldo and Ortega with his striking. In the fight against Poirier the punches weren’t dramatically affecting Dustin. What should Max do next, Stay at 155 pounds or return to 145 pounds.

Schaub discusses on the Joe Rogan Podcast about Holloway moving up to Lightweight isn’t the best decision for him, The Poirier punches affected Holloway a lot worse than what Holloway punches did to Poirier. Holloway landed more punches but Poirier’s punches were more significant.

Max in his last fight against Poirier, We see Poirier taking it to Holloway in the whole fight. Dustin in the first round had those deadly knees and strikes, Tagging Max a lot. However Max is tough as nails and kept fighting, Max didn’t get knocked out and lasted 5 rounds in his first ever go around at Lightweight. Watched the fight a couple times, Holloway still had his beautiful masterpiece combinations but never truly hurt Poirier. Holloway at 145 is another story and maybe that’s where he should stay.

“It’s crazy, what I didn’t expect is he looked small at 155,” White told the media at the UFC 236 post-fight press conference (via MMAjunkie). “So I look forward to him going back to 145.”

https://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/ufc/dana-white-shares-plan-for-max-holloway-after-ufc-236/

I agree with Uncle Bobby Dana about Max looking small at 155 pounds but I disagree with Dana for Holloway moving down to 145 pounds. Max dominated the Featherweight division and now it’s time to seek a challenge in the Lightweight division. Max vs Tony Ferguson is a exciting fight to watch which was supposed to happen.

On the other hand there young hungry lions in the featherweight division such as Alexander Volkanovski, Zabit Magomedsharipov and can have Brian Ortega Part 2. Max can continue being the greatest Featherweight of all time and defeat the new top 5 UFC Featherweights.

Overall I rather see Max continue to fight at Lightweight, Interesting to see what Max does there. Max just needs to work on his strength and conditioning, Become a bigger 155 pounder. Max is the featherweight champion for a reason because he’s extremely disciplined and he’ll do whatever it takes to be the UFC Lightweight Champion.

Two Oceanians will collide, Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker

Israel Adesanya, New Zealand immigrant from Nigeria became the UFC Interim Lightweight Champion by defeating Kelvin Gastelum . Israel had the toughest and hardest challenge of his career against Gastelum, The fight was a war and Israel came on top. Israel showed his true talents against Kelvin and will have to show his talents against Robert Whittaker, UFC Middleweight Champion.

“We were going to do that fight here; I wanted that fight in the U.S.,” White told reporters, including MMA Junkie, post-fight at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. “We’re definitely not doing that fight in the U.S. That fight is going to Australia. It will be massive in Australia. I put my guys on that. That’s their homework for this week. A stadium, not an arena, A stadium in Australia.” Dana White MMA JUNKIE

Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker is going to be a PPV success. Last couple years ppv’s have been hard to sell but without a doubt this fight well sell close to a million buys. If everything goes to plan this will be one of the biggest fights in UFC history and one of the best fights ever. Casual fans will be watching this fight as well.

Predict the fight going to be scheduled in September, October or November. Hope everything goes to plan.

UFC 236 Fight of the Night Goes Too?

Max Holloway vs Dustin Poirier will be FIGHT OF THE NIGHT because both fighters are stand up fighters. Both of these guys are not grapplers, Rarely see them attempting to take there opponent down. Holloway vs Poirier won’t be the bloodbath fight but more of a technical striking fight.

Max Holloway is a technical striker not a brawler like Justin Gaethje. Holloway picks his openings and takes advantage of it. Holloway in my opinion and many other MMA Analyst think Holloway is one of the best boxers in MMA today. Max Holloway just keeps pushing the pace every round and that’s why Holloway has two fight of the night bonuses. Well Deserved.

Dustin Poirier is no slouch either with NINE Fight Bonuses, When entering the Octagon you always know Dustin is putting on a show for the fans. Poirier is a killer. Steps in the Octagon and goes all in.

  • Fight of the Year vs Chang Sung Jung 2012
  • Fight of the Year vs Justin Gaetje 2018
  • Fight of the Night Five Times

Max Holloway vs Dustin Poirier will be Fight of the Night and possibly nominated for Fight of the Year!!

The Winner is…. Max Holloway. The NEW INTERIM LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION.

Fan Favorite Justin Gaethje Knocks Out Barboza, What’s Next?

Justin Gaethje headlines his 4th event by having a first round war with Edson Barboza. What’s next for the fan favorite, Who sells out crowds because he loves to fight.

“It doesn’t matter to me (who I fight next),” Gaethje told reporters, including MMA Junkie, post-fight at UFC on ESPN 2. “They’re going to pay me a lot of money, that’s what I’m here for. I want to be the world champion. I want to fight Khabib, I think I’m one of the biggest threats to his title and that’s my goal. Whoever I have to go through.”

https://mmajunkie.com/2019/03/justin-gaethje-im-among-biggest-threats-to-khabib-nurmagomedovs-title-reign

Khabib vs Gaethje

Justin Gaethje is an all american wrestler and a brawler. Justin has a crazy chin and a high motor. The fight with Khabib makes a lot of sense as Khabib suspension ends in September. Without a doubt be Khabib’s toughest matchup so far… Dana White would love this fight as he loves both fighters, It can be the main event for a ESPN PPV and can sell 800k- 1 million ppv buys.

Gaethje vs Iaquinta

Al Iaquinta is a beast who just beat Kevin Lee, Dominating Lee with wrestling. Raging Al is a future UFC champion and an all around fighter. Al Iaquinta lasted five rounds against Khabib under 1 day notice.

Holloway/ Poirier vs Gaethje

Max Holloway coming up to lightweight to fight Dustin Poirier in UFC 236. Max is a striking beast, One of the best fighters on the planet and is 27 years old. Dustin is the dark horse of the lightweight division and is highly capable of beating Max. However Holloway vs Gaethje would be a hell of a fight to watch, No disrespect to Dustin. Be an entertaining fight to watch .

Overall the Lightweight division is in a mess right now, Conor retiring from MMA but I doubt it, Khabib suspension and Tony dealing with mental issues. The fight that makes sense the most at this moment on April 1st, 2019 is the winner of Holloway vs Poirier against Gaethje. Gaethje deserves the fight, Always puts on a show for the fans and the title fight wouldn’t be anymore different. Max is a stand up fighter mostly and so is Dustin! Definitely worth the money to order that fight, I’m probably going to buy the ppv if that fight happens!
